Busy Days...

I haven't been doing much scrapbooking lately but I have been working on some quilts. I'm really not much of a quilter but these are really easy, well at least the star part is. I've found that finishing them up is much harder than I thought. This one is for my husbands brother who is finally getting married Jan. 2nd. We'll see if I can get it finished by then. Also as a side thought it is MUCH easier and cheaper to just buy a nice quilt...

Fishin' Hole Layout

I made this layout for my husband and my boys. They have this awesome fishing spot on some private property that they just love to go to. Unfortunately my desktop computer crashed before I could print out the pics to put them on the pages. I hope that I can at least get the pics off the hard drive before they have to totally reset my computer...

Just a thought...

I was looking over my blog and on the right hand side I have a place that shows where people are from who have visited my blog. My thought is that if some of you also have blogs I'd love to visit yours as well. You can leave me a comment with your blog address or email it to me at lazydaisyranch@hotmail.com! Thanks to all of you who visit my blog, I honestly was a little worried that only my local friends would visit. It's neat to see that I create things that are worth you time to visit my blog! Thanks again, S

Glitter Disaster!!

I'm posting this pic because I thought some of you might be able to relate. This morining I walked into my scrap room to be totally saddened by this glitter disaster!! My beautiful 2 yr old is the "natural" cause... She dumped out 4 bottles of chunky glitter, 1 bottle of prisma glitter, 1 tube of black glitter, a bottle of black embossing powder, 2 things of brads and I think that's it. The other sad thing is I'm a messy scrapbooker and I've really been working on things so the glitter was everywhereand all over everything. I had cleaned up a little when I thought I should take a picture to share with you... Anyhow, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, and if you are thinking about braving Black Friday.... Good Luck and have fun!! This other picture is of TessaLee, the darling 2 yr old!!

Christmas Present for my cousin...

I know that I have posted projects like this in the past but here is a Mini Legal Note pad folder with some envelopes. On my mom's side of the family we have a gift exchange with the whole family, cousins and all. I made this for my cousin Kallie. She has been through a lot. She had serious cancer as a teenager and didn't think she would would ever have kids... but just about a month ago she had a beautiful baby boy!! We're so happy for her!!

Christmas Bulb Card and Color Combo

I don't know how many of you have Cricut cutting machines but there is a great program that I just love called Sure Cuts A Lot 2 that is compatible with your Cricut. Sure Cuts A Lot has a forum that is FULL of free images to use with the Cricut. While I was looking for a tag I came accross this little purse and thought it looked a lot like a Christmas tree bulb. So this is my card for Jeanette's Color Combo. Be sure to check out her super cute True Fit Folio album for organizing Christmas activities!

November SOTM card

We have some friends that live in Seattle that have been waiting to move into their new home that they built in Cle Elum, Washington which is a little south of Seattle. So I was excited to have this stamp set to create a card for them. I made it using the November stamp of the month "Around the Block." It's a super cute set but for me a little hard to use. I'm never sure what or how to use some thing that is white. But all in all this card turned out cute I think. And as you can see I still haven't figured out the blurry part, even though I thought I had... I hope you all have a great day!

Christmas cards and Give Away!!

Here are some cute Christmas cards out of the current Idea book! This paper is called Creative Basics Jingle Collection (X5808). It also come with Juniper grosgrain ribbon. The stamp sets used are Snow Flurries (D1384) and Holiday Trinkets (D1366). I also used Clear Sparkles (Z1104), Prisma Glitter (Z134), and Flurry Dimensional Elements (Z1225). Color combo includes: Tulip, Juniper, White Daisy and Creme Brulee.

Now what I want to do is pose a question: What is your experience with Close To My Heart products and how did you stumble upon my blog? Leave me a comment by Sunday the 25th of October and if you are randomly chosen you will receive these 2 cards!! Monday I will post the winner! Good luck and have a great day!

Jeanette's Color Challenge

Here is my Card for Jeanettes Color Challenge. I was a little hesitant to start the color challenges because I'm just your average scrapbooker...I DON'T have "one" of everything. So I don't always have the exact colors. But I thought I would do them anyhow and just tell you my variations. The colors I used for this card are: Black, Autumn Terracotta, Creme Brulee and Olive. I think they go well together. I also used the Beware, October Word Puzzle and Gear Up stamp sets. I dry embossed the Olive paper and sanded it. I embossed the Black stamped image on the Creme Brulee and used Black brads, I also tied a knot with Chocolate ribbon for the pumpkin stem. I am also working on the blurriness issue, so sorry and thanks for your patience! Have a great day!

School Pictures

Well there is a funny story about this...I got these pictures home from school about a week ago and I kept waiting for my older 2 kids to bring theirs home as well. Today I finally got the real story out of my oldest son. He said when it came time to take the pictures he couldn't find the envelope with the money in it. Well that envelope had the money in it for both him and my oldest daughter. So I only have Bill's school pictures... Actually it's kind of a sad thing, maybe I'll try re-takes.
So I used the Main Frame-Backdrop layout template from the Imagine book on page 58. The letters are in the stickease assortment. I did some stitching around the outside of the background paper and then kind of roughed up the edges.
All supplies CTMH: Free Spirit stickease and level 2 paper-Autumn Terracotta, Indian Corn Blue and Honey CS .
other supplies: scallop edge punch

Another Christmas Card

I love this card. I made several of them last year to send out to family. It uses the

Creative Basics Evensong Collection (X5805)background paper. The layout comes from the Originals book. It isn't an exact copy of the card but the dementions are the same. It's the Scalloped Money Holder layout on page 58. I used New England Ivy CS and ink; White Daisy CS; Buttercup ink; Cranberry ink and ribbon. I also used Clear Sparkles and the Shining Star (D1320) and Seasonal Celenrations (D1112)stamp sets.

Christmas Cards

And y0u thought (or hoped) that I was done with the Twitterpated paper. I'm alreadyt hinking of Christmas...shopping, cards, the overall busyness of it all. So I guess i'm trying to get a head start on the cards and maybe get them made and ready to go. I also used the Everygreen stamp set and Cocoa ribbon and ink. This card layout is from the Originals book: French Quarter. I took this picture like 10 times and they were all fuzzy, I don't know how to get them clear. Maybe I need a new camera...Sorry!

Baby Cards for my Cousins

Here are 2 cards that I made for my cousins. One just had a baby boy last week and the other is due this month, and she is having a girl. I made these cards using the same template from the Wishes book. It's called "Three in a Row" on pg 41.
For the boyish card I used the Good Times paper set and the Connections and Sweet Baby stamp sets.I also used Chocolate ribbon and brad and Buttercup felt. I cut the "b" out using my Cricut.
On the girly Card I used the Key To My Heart paper set and the Sweet Baby stamp set. I also used ribbon from the older Hollyhock ribbon rounds collections, Clear Sparkles, Tulip and Buttercup felt. I also used the Cricut to cut out the letter "b".
It's fun to see the different creations you can make using the same idea.

CTMH's Make it from your Heart Entry

Here is my entry for the Make It From Your Heart contest the Close To My Heart sponsors every month. I got the layout and background paper idea from my up line Mindy Stilson. You can check out her blog here. The color scheme is: Gold Rush, Autumn Terracotta, Outdoor Denim, Olive, Colonial White and Barn Red. I created my own striped background paper by taking small ( 1/8", 1/4", 1/2" and 5/8") strips of the Olive, Outdoor Denim, Barn Red, Autumn Terracotta and Colonial White CS and gluing them randomly on a 12x12 Gold Rush CS. I used the Many Thanks stamp set , Outdoor Denim Twill ribbon and Natural hemp. The title uses the Friendship alphabet set. There is also one Olive button. If you have any questions or want instructions for the background paper or layout please leave a comment with your email and I'll get them to you! Thanks and have a great day!

Here is a page I made a while ago. It's 9x9 and made with Juniper CS and ink; Chocolate ribbon, CS and ink and Autumn Terracotta CS, ink and embellishments. There is also a small amount of Colonial White CS. I also used the Seasons of Change stamp set for the leaves and the Give Thanks Booking incentive stamp set.

Club card

Here is the card we made at our club party! I did add some hemp to the colonial white buttons. Super cute!

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

A friend of mine had a baby boy a few weeks ago. I made this card and gift bag for her.
The card was created using the Simple expressions layout from the Wishes book on pg. 40. It is mounted on Colonial white CS with Free Spirit B&T paper. I also used the Blue Jeans, Sweet Baby and Western Flourishes stamp sets. Embellishments include Outdoor Denim conches, Twill ribbon and a saftey pin and Natural Hemp. The colors used are: Outdoor Denim, Desert Sand, Cocoa and Colonial white. I can't remember the name of the alphabet stamp set. It was one of the promotional sets where you got a large and small set. Sorry, if anyone knows the name please leave me a comment so I can let everyone know as well. Thanks, and have a great day!

Twitterpated Cards

I am so excited to create with this Twitterpated paper. I just love the warmth it radiates!

This card is one of the additional projects offered in the Workshop guide that comes with the kit. It uses the exclusive stamp set Hello There that also comes in the kit. I put a small drop of Liquid Glass on each brown dot on the Sorbet background paper. The instructions and the finishing touches are all included in the kit.

This card is a different take on the card I'm demonstrating for my club party on Tuesday the 15th of September at my house from 7-9 pm (I will try to post that card soon). I also love this stamp set. It's called Many Thanks on page 23 of the Autumn/Winter Idea Book. I stamped the leaf in Sweet Leaf ink and sponged the edges with Sorbet and Chocolate inks to give it that fall look!

Christmas Post Card

I'll give you a little break from the Twitterpated projects and show you this super cute Christmas card that I'm really proud of! Sorry about the fuzzy picture, I'm not very good at photography and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get a clear picture. I used the Perfect Day (X7100B) paper on Colonial White CS. I rounded the corners on the patterned paper. I sponged the edges with Desert Sand ink. The Juniper CS is textured ( I ran it through my Cuttlebug). The tag is the Sizzix Sizzlits lots of Tags Label 2, also sponged with Desert Sand ink. The snowflake is from the Flurries set (B1106). I added extra small Sparkles (Z1104) to the center dots on the snowflake and inked the edges again with the Desert Sand ink. I tied it up with Natural Hemp (Z280). The Merry Christmas is from an older set called Seasonal Celebration, which I'm not sure is available anymore (D1112). All in all I think it turned out very nicely!
