Christmas Cards

And y0u thought (or hoped) that I was done with the Twitterpated paper. I'm alreadyt hinking of Christmas...shopping, cards, the overall busyness of it all. So I guess i'm trying to get a head start on the cards and maybe get them made and ready to go. I also used the Everygreen stamp set and Cocoa ribbon and ink. This card layout is from the Originals book: French Quarter. I took this picture like 10 times and they were all fuzzy, I don't know how to get them clear. Maybe I need a new camera...Sorry!

Baby Cards for my Cousins

Here are 2 cards that I made for my cousins. One just had a baby boy last week and the other is due this month, and she is having a girl. I made these cards using the same template from the Wishes book. It's called "Three in a Row" on pg 41.
For the boyish card I used the Good Times paper set and the Connections and Sweet Baby stamp sets.I also used Chocolate ribbon and brad and Buttercup felt. I cut the "b" out using my Cricut.
On the girly Card I used the Key To My Heart paper set and the Sweet Baby stamp set. I also used ribbon from the older Hollyhock ribbon rounds collections, Clear Sparkles, Tulip and Buttercup felt. I also used the Cricut to cut out the letter "b".
It's fun to see the different creations you can make using the same idea.

CTMH's Make it from your Heart Entry

Here is my entry for the Make It From Your Heart contest the Close To My Heart sponsors every month. I got the layout and background paper idea from my up line Mindy Stilson. You can check out her blog here. The color scheme is: Gold Rush, Autumn Terracotta, Outdoor Denim, Olive, Colonial White and Barn Red. I created my own striped background paper by taking small ( 1/8", 1/4", 1/2" and 5/8") strips of the Olive, Outdoor Denim, Barn Red, Autumn Terracotta and Colonial White CS and gluing them randomly on a 12x12 Gold Rush CS. I used the Many Thanks stamp set , Outdoor Denim Twill ribbon and Natural hemp. The title uses the Friendship alphabet set. There is also one Olive button. If you have any questions or want instructions for the background paper or layout please leave a comment with your email and I'll get them to you! Thanks and have a great day!

Club card

Here is the card we made at our club party! I did add some hemp to the colonial white buttons. Super cute!

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

A friend of mine had a baby boy a few weeks ago. I made this card and gift bag for her.
The card was created using the Simple expressions layout from the Wishes book on pg. 40. It is mounted on Colonial white CS with Free Spirit B&T paper. I also used the Blue Jeans, Sweet Baby and Western Flourishes stamp sets. Embellishments include Outdoor Denim conches, Twill ribbon and a saftey pin and Natural Hemp. The colors used are: Outdoor Denim, Desert Sand, Cocoa and Colonial white. I can't remember the name of the alphabet stamp set. It was one of the promotional sets where you got a large and small set. Sorry, if anyone knows the name please leave me a comment so I can let everyone know as well. Thanks, and have a great day!

Twitterpated Cards

I am so excited to create with this Twitterpated paper. I just love the warmth it radiates!

This card is one of the additional projects offered in the Workshop guide that comes with the kit. It uses the exclusive stamp set Hello There that also comes in the kit. I put a small drop of Liquid Glass on each brown dot on the Sorbet background paper. The instructions and the finishing touches are all included in the kit.

This card is a different take on the card I'm demonstrating for my club party on Tuesday the 15th of September at my house from 7-9 pm (I will try to post that card soon). I also love this stamp set. It's called Many Thanks on page 23 of the Autumn/Winter Idea Book. I stamped the leaf in Sweet Leaf ink and sponged the edges with Sorbet and Chocolate inks to give it that fall look!

Christmas Post Card

I'll give you a little break from the Twitterpated projects and show you this super cute Christmas card that I'm really proud of! Sorry about the fuzzy picture, I'm not very good at photography and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get a clear picture. I used the Perfect Day (X7100B) paper on Colonial White CS. I rounded the corners on the patterned paper. I sponged the edges with Desert Sand ink. The Juniper CS is textured ( I ran it through my Cuttlebug). The tag is the Sizzix Sizzlits lots of Tags Label 2, also sponged with Desert Sand ink. The snowflake is from the Flurries set (B1106). I added extra small Sparkles (Z1104) to the center dots on the snowflake and inked the edges again with the Desert Sand ink. I tied it up with Natural Hemp (Z280). The Merry Christmas is from an older set called Seasonal Celebration, which I'm not sure is available anymore (D1112). All in all I think it turned out very nicely!

Stamping Memories

Over at Jeanette Lyntons blog she talked about her first stamp set, the one that started her on the way to forefront of the scrapbooking industry! To celebrate National Stamping month she is having a contest for any who want to enter. She wants you to take a walk down memory lane and remember the first stamp set you bought that got you hooked!
I found the earliest Close To My Heart Idea Book I had and found my first set! It's called "In Friendships Garden." The Idea Book was dated 2003-2004. The stamps were still mounted on wooden blocks then. Also I included on layout I made with the set. Man, I've come a long ways in 6 years! It's fun to think back to those days! I remember I had just moved to a new town and a lady from my ward invited me to a Close To My Heart party. That's all it took for me, the girls were super sweet and we had a lot of fun! I wanted a way to preserve my memories beautifully and share in these close friendships. Since them I have made many dear friends through scrapbooking and Close To My Heart. I have also filled several albums with beautiful memories!
It was really fun to look at the old Idea book. Somethings have changed a little and some things are still the way we love them! I think as a whole the scrapbooking industry has made beautiful strides! There are some amazingly creative minds out there that have brought us many great things!
Visit Jeanette's blog and enter yourself into the drawing she has to celebrate stamping! I'd love to see your stamp sets and artwork as well!

(I'm not sure why this picture is upside down but I could't figure out how to fix it...oops and sorry. :) )

3x3 Christmas Cards

Here are some super cute 3x3 cards that I made. I made them last year but sometimes old projects can get the mind rolling for the up coming holiday season! They are so simple and can be made with scraps, which I'm sure we all have a lot of!

This one uses the Aspen paper packet, Clear Sparkles, and Snowflake Kisses stamp set. I sanded the Outdoor Denim CS. I put Liquid Glass on the snowflake. I used Twilight and Bamboo CS and the striped patterned as mattes.

This cute little card uses Chocolate Texture paper, Honey and White Daisy CS and All Decked Out stamp set. I spnoged the tops of the torn White Daisy CS with Dutch Blue ink. The nose uses Orange ink. I don't think you can tell from this picture but I background stamped on the Chocolate CS.

Bill's Page

Here is the page I made up for my son Bill. He was so dang excited for Kindergarten. It's so unfair that the Kindergartners have to wait longer to begin school because they're the most excited! I love the Tinkerin' paper! It's is so colorful and happy! I got this layout from the Reflections book: Triple Play-Tagline on pg. 95.

CTMH supplies: Tinkerin' paper and Stickease, Twilight CS and ink, White Daisy CS, Tulip ink, Sunny Yellow sheer ribbon and eyelet, Clover Meadow CS
"kindergarten" was cut with cricut and sponged with tulip ink
